Be My Saviour

Lead me to my destiny through the valley of death
Where shadows follow me to my very last breath
When I’m on my knees crying begging for mercy
Don’t take no pity just be my enemy
As you punish me for all my sins
There are no losers, just wins, wins and wins.

  1. I guess ones the sins are taken care of .. one becomes pure again ..

    beautiful poem

  2. Seems like a desire to be punished. The whole sin thing for me is hard to understand. The OT stresses judgement for wickedness and punishment . The NT seems less harsh with the threats. More emphasis on confession, regret and atonement and the attempt to be guided by the Spirit to live in sin no longer.

    • It really depends what you define as sin… And how you were brought up…

Also crimes/sins and punishments are all around us… We are from day one taught to be good or else…

  3. On the day of judgement I know how it shall be.

I’ll stand before my God with no hope of charity.

I’ll stand alone and pay the price for everything I’ve done.

‘Cos there ain’t no Guardian Angel for a child of Babylon…

  4. The phrase “valley of death” conjures up images of Lord Tennyson’s “Charge of the Light Brigade”. Your poem seems to imbue the words with a very different meaning. Captivating all the same.

  5. I think this flash poetry is something
that you should do a lot more of Princess 🙂

  6. As always I visit and am pleasantly surprised!

Your poem makes me call to mind the scripture in Proverbs 16:24 …
“Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.”

    have a good week Princess!

  7. Hmm.. im not sure if one would like to be punished.. but then, who knows what this heart finds satisfaction in…
My advice, never ask for punishment. Ask for guidence n Mercy.
