WhatsApp Mesenger iPhone 4

As the iphone 5 is soon to be launched speculation is rife what new features it will have. Up till now no one knows. How can you improve an already amazing phone that out markets the rest? Time will of course tell.

But as we all know what makes these smart phones so smart is the applications, because without them there would be no real special attraction would there? So one thing is for sure that when the iPhone 5 does grace us with it’s much awaited presence it will be enhanced and no doubt there will be more apps  just to suit the iPhone 5.  I touched on the Apps briefly in my previous post and what I want to do is take a closer look at them and perhaps in more detail.  So over the coming days I will be posting regular reviews on the most popular apps and the not so popular. The most bought apps and the best free apps too. I think it will be interesting for all users of the iPhones and a great guide to those of you who are thinking of getting one.

There are thousands (350,000) of apps to chose from and something for everyone. No matter what age or profession you are in, there is something in there for you.

The apps are mostly split in to categories from which you can enter and browse or you can simply search on the search engine in the app store. Buying couldn’t be easier either, because your details are already set up, you make your choice, tap and download. It’s that simple!

There are so many categories to choose from that it would be impossible not to find something to suit you and your needs. Every lifestyle is catered for. Lets take a look at the categories.

  • Games
  • Entertainment
  • Utilities
  • Social networking
  • Music
  • Productivity
  • Lifestyle
  • Reference
  • Travel
  • Navigation
  • Health & fitness
  • News
  • Photography
  • Finance
  • Business
  • Weather
  • Books
  • Medical

On my iPhone it shows me the most popular apps in each category so I will be  taking a closer look at some of them.

Social Networking is a must these days, its something that has just become part of life and I don’t think there are many people out there that haven’t used one of the services.

iPhone offers most of them and the most popular ones are Facebook, WhatsApp Messenger, Yahoo, MSN and plenty more.

WhatsApp Messenger is the top most grossing  bought app at the moment at the cost of £0.59. Now I’ve used this app a lot and I love it, its just like msn but even better. The other day my sister abroad wanted to see pics of my new car. To send her the pictures through my normal service provider would have cost me but on this app I was able to send her as many as I wanted free of charge.

How it works

WhatsApp Messenger is a cross-platform mobile messaging app which allows you to exchange messages without having to pay for SMS. WhatsApp Messenger is available for iPhone, BlackBerry, Android and Nokia and yes, those phones can all message each other! Because WhatsApp Messenger uses the same internet data plan that you use for email and web browsing, there is no cost to message and stay in touch with your friends.

There are also no pins or user names to be used. No need to log in or log out. There is no need to add buddies. Your address book is used to automatically connect  you with your contacts.

In addition to basic messaging iPhone, Android, Nokia and BlackBerry WhatsApp Messenger users can send each other unlimited images, video and audio media messages. Also included is group chat with up to 5 people which is excellent because the other day my sister, myself and two cousins enjoyed this feature imensley while they weren’t even using iphones. So a great must have and I’m not surprised it’s their best seller at the moment.

Also note that there are no hidden costs once this app is downloaded. Which will be good news for anyone.

Another thing that enhances this app is the emoji apps which is a keyboard that is downloaded into your iphone. It is a free app that will allow you to send emoticons and so much more to whoever you are chatting to. Its so much fun! It can be used in SMS, Email, Notes and all messaging applications.

And here are some of the reviews for this app;

“Great if you are in an area of low signal but have a wifi connection to stay connected with your friends and contacts.”

“Send a couple of photos and it’s already paid for itself! The more friends you can persuade to join up the better. Highly recommended”

“Fantastic app”

“it is fantastic to use”

“Often more reliable than SMS!”

I could go on and on but all the reviews are pretty much the same, all are praising this app imensley.  So this is definately a dollar or fifty nine pence well spent. A must have definately.

Look out for more reviews coming very soon!
