A POEM FOR MY MOTHER

I miss you so much,
your laugh, your smile, your touch.
You always brightened my days
with all the smiles you sent my way.
I need you as my angel
to always be at my side.
I need you as my angel
to give me peace of mind.
I like to think your near to me
to know that you are there.
Even though I can not see you,
I feel that you are near.
Please do not forget me mom,
for you are always in my heart,
my thoughts and prayers.
I love you.

Even to hear you scold me once again… just anything… to feel something… to hear you…

    • I was in the middle of writing my own but realised it was just too personal and i wasn’t ready to make it public… I found this and it just said it all perfectly…

  1. This resonates deeply with me, Aneesa, I lost my mother a little over a year ago. Shortly after that, a friend (now former friend but not because of that, you may have read why on my blog already) Anyway, she was complaining of her parents, both still living and argues with them all the time. I just stared at her and said, “You do realize I have just lost my mother and no longer have any parents to even argue with?” She stopped long enough to say yes and resumed her complaints. Some things you simply cannot know until you have walked in the moccasins. Gentle thoughts from my heart to yours 🙂

    • When my friends sit and complain about their parents i sit and wonder how would they feel if they were sitting in my shoes…

I always say to them… appreciate your parents now.. because once they are gone it will be too late

Love your parents and respect them so that tomorrow when they aren’t here and u think of them… you will have no regrets… that’s a tough one…

But I don’t anyone gets me, like you do, unless they have lost a parent… no one really knows that feeling…

Thanks for your kind words… huggs to u too

  2. Each and every day, tell your loved ones how much you love them, and give them a big hug, because if that day should be your last, then you have no regrets.

Some days you can go without even remembering a loved one, it’s human nature, then, out of the blue, any place, any time, a tear can flow down your cheek because you thought of them.

    Nice poem Aneesa…..

    • Thanks and you are absolutely right we should treat people with respect and care … so that when they are not here tomorrow we don’t live with guilt and regrets that we wish we could have done things differently…

      Thanks for your words….

    • There are times we really need her… like right now… our family is going through a crisis… it’s times like this we miss her desperately and just want her here…

      • We all go through bad times Aneesa, but please remember: This Too Shall Pass.

You are a beautiful person with a good heart and that counts for a lot even today.

You are in my thoughts and in my prayers my friend.

        God Bless!

        Prenin.

          • I thought it was just some random person. 😉 But yes I recognized you on Fb because you used your name, not designation as in Google Plus. 😉

              • I actually read it but didn’t subscribe to your blog immediately. So, I kinda forgot about you. Some time later I visited your blog again and then subscribed. So I remembered your original name and the blog URL instead princess laila. 😉

By the way, is laila your name or you just like to add it after princess? 😉

                • I am known as Laila to many of my friends and family… but my real name is Aneesa 😛

                  hahaha I didn’t think i was forgettable… I just assumed you knew who I was from google+ 😛

    • Thanks Pen… a shining light… thats what mothers are… because when they go its very dark… you lose your way in so many things…

Wish you lots of hugs too… xx

  4. made me sad aneesa i lost my mum too and long for a cuddle everyday your not alone with your longing i know how you are feeling xxjen

    • you know jenny whenever i dream about her.. she is happy and gushing with pride and love… she is sitting in this palace that is very lush with deep red and gold furnishings… its so luxurious… and she just keeps saying… look what my kids bought.. this beautiful house … she is so happy … I wake up really annoyed that we can barely get by a day without her and she is happy and gushing… but at the same time it gives me peace and strength to carry on…

  5. Like you Aneesa, I couldn’t write my own poem for my mom. Yesterday would’ve been her 81st birthday.

    Thank you for this.

    • My mum wasn’t that old, she was an amazing person. You know there are people who only ever met her for five minutes and still rave about her. She left her mark wherever she went. She was so warm and loving, such a gentle soul she was. She always saw only the good in everyone and only ever showed compassion and sympathy to others. There will never be another person in this world like her.

I loved the poem too, it just really touched my heart.

  6. Truly beautiful, It’s how I feel each and everyday without her. I would give anything just to have her hold me in her arms once more.
